Are musicals too expensive?

I personally love to go and see a musical every now and then but most of the time they are very expensive and that keeps me from going more often. I'm pretty small and when I do go I want a good view on the stage so I will buy first or second range tickets. I see no effort in going to a musical if I can only see hopping dots up and down what is supposidly the stage. I rather would see one musical less and have 1 good view than 3 or 4 bad ones; so that's a personal choice. I have a cultural pass for youngsters till age 25 or so that gives me the oppertunity to buy tickets with 50% off the price when there are any left for the same night; last minute tickets. I've done so twice and I had great seats. It saves me a lot and I'm thankfull that it exists. It's an initiative to get young people more culturalized and go to opera's, muscicals, buy books, etc by giving them all sorts of nice discounts. You pay a fee per year and that's it! Do you think musicals are too expensive? The shows are lovely but still 80 euros (100 dollars) is a lot for one ticket, imagine what you can do with that kind of money! Any musicallover on mylot? .
