Why Do People Drink.....Alcoholic or Social Drinker?  |

|  One important thing to remember about alcohol is that it is a drug, and people get addicted to it. It’s known as alcoholism and people who suffer from it are called alcoholics. The truth is, alcoholism is a disease, and it can be very, very hard for alcoholics to stop drinking...however the level of addiction will vary from person to person..my husband also drinks one or two pegs of white rum or a bottle of beer whenever we go out or dinner or in a party..my brother drinks sometimes only under peer pressure a Bacardi Breezer..i do not drink at all because i cannot tolerate the smell of alcohol..Why do you drink? are you a social drinker or are you an alcoholic? what do you drink? at what age did you start drinking? did you ever try giving it up as a habit?

| |  People drink to get drunk. Alcohol tastes too crap to drink it just for the taste of it.
I like to drink becasue I like to get drunk. I've thought about cutting down, which I have but I will bnever stop becasue drinking (intelligently) is fun.

| | hi dear i do not think it is fun ..how can one enjoy getting up groggy in the morning..i do not drink at all so i do not really relate to drinking...but occasional drinking should be fine but i hate to see people getting drunk and loosing control over themselves...it will a good idea to cut down..take care have a nice day | | | |

| |  Hello,nupats!I don't understand why people drink and what they get of it.regular consumption of alcohol may damage the liver of a person.besides studies have revealed that most of the accidents are caused by the alcoholic people.they drink and drive their vehicles and cause accidents on the road.we in India consider alcoholism as a social evil and we hate the alcoholic people.thanx.

But its a misbeleif.
Alcohol never reduces our worries it increases worries through many other ways...

| |  I like the taste of good whiskey and enjoy the buzz I get. But I have to be very careful, alcoholism runs in my family. I found myself drinking too much a few times, making a habit of it so I stopped. I enjoy a drink every now and then but it's easy to get into a habit of having one before bed every night, then two, and so on. Now I have one mainly if I'm out with friends but not at home much--I no longer buy big bottles, either. I don't want to be a habitual drinker!
Also, people think it's easier to sleep after a drink or two but alcohol disrupts sleep.
