So, I think most us will work for money with satisfaction being a secondary thought. And in many ways, it is important to have a decent amount of money on a monthly basis than it is to have satisfaction. I mean, one may love writing and gladly do it for free but unless your books or articles sell, you don't get money and you don't eat - so you have to do something that puts money into your pocket. Having said that though, you need to be satisfied and happy with your work if you want your work to become something that sends you to higher levels in your career. Many of the world's richest people became rich by doing the things they loved, rather than things they did just for the money. Bill Gates loves computers and Warren Buffet gets excited by analysing stocks - this is why these men continued to work long after money was no longer a concerned. Warren Buffet famously remarked, "I am more excited by processes than proceeds, though I've learned to live with those to." Look at this simple logic - you do something you like means you will want to do well at it and be good. Then you will get praise and recognition and then you get promoted and the financial rewards come as you get better. But if you work for the money with no interest in the work, you will eventually lose interest and lose the ability to be good. At best you stagnate in the job. If what you love doing is not paying, you should find something that puts money into your pocket and follow your passion on the side until you find the ability to make money from it. Then you can make yourself a decent career from your passion.
