Gas prices are actually going down and not just a few pennies!

I just turned on the news and some of the near areas around me (im in the southwest burbs of Chicago) are actually dropping their gas prices..just a week ago we were paying 4.29 to 4.39 a gallon and they just showed some as low as 3.79...of course these areas are just a little to far from me, but im sure the stations near me will be hitting below 4.00 soon, otherwise people will drive to the next town to get the cheaper price.
I generally dont drive far for cheaper gas, but for more than 25 cents per gallon cheaper, you bet your life i will!
How about you, how far will you drive to save a few cents on gas?
Whats the average price where you are?

Gas here in Missouri is at 4.61 where I live. It was at like 4.92 so it's coming down s-l-o-w-l-y...now if they can just bring the cost of food down too I'll be happy. It would be nice to be able to go to the store and actually buy something without it costing an arm and a leg.

OUCH my friend, that is really high. Those are the prices on the north side of the city here, so the burbs im in were actually lucky i guess. im glad its going down by you too, almost 5.00 a gallon, i think would have made me too ill to ... drive..lol

There's been several gas stations/convenience stores that have closed including one that's been here for over 50 years. I hope if the prices go down enough that they will reopen. I don't know why the prices are suddenly coming down but I hope it keeps up.
Most of the ppl I know don't go anywhere they don't absolutely have to go. You just can't afford to.

hmm, that's good though that they are lowering it down some. may not be much, but, i do't no.
i think our gas prices are about $3.77 last store that i checked. and that was walmart. LOL

Yep the 3.79 they said was at Walmart as well, but there was a regular gas station that was 3.89. I had hopeed that by this afternoon the ones right by my house would have went under 4.00 but they didnt..lowest ive seen which was about an hour ago, was 4.09,and well thats cheap compared to 4.39 we were paying just about a week or two ago..sad when you think 4.00 is cheap.
