As Swiss is in the Eu,if other continents has an independent State as well, will the world be a better place to live in.I knew Africa tried this even before the EU came to place but i think there was not enough cooperation. ninjaI found out that many Countries working together as one need an Independent State that will be acting as Referies or neutral when taking decisions.

I've never seen the potion of Swizterland too clear in Europe. That neutrality has no colour and looks more than a lack of decision to join a group and the fear that integrating, and diluting in a bigger group might damage the economy of the country. May be if CH was bigger it would have long ago joined the union. As they show in Asterix in Helvetia, that mania of having everything spotlessly clean, and doing everything perfect might be a barrier to work in a team. Thae last thing is not only personal opions but some commets of Swiss people I met in different occasions.

Not really, there must be a common will to join, and Switzterand doesn't match many of the requirements, mostly the economical ones. It's too different and doesn't want to change. After all it's going well.

For waht If been reading there are lots of bilateral agreements with the eu and with countries individually, and CH even contributrd, like Norway, in projects to devolope the economies of the new members. De facto, thanks to all those agreements a goop part of EU regulations are effective in CH.
