Balance.

Are you meaning a scale that you weigh on? I have not heard it called a Balance before. I don't know what the differences would be. I was thinking of buying a digital scale because of the fact that think it would be easier to read. And I was reading on another site about people who have lost lots of weight, some of them have claimed that it was helpful for them to weight themselves daily using a digital scale,. because it encouraged them when they could see that they had only lost a tiny amount of weight. Which helped them to continue on each day towards their weightloss goals, this to me would be a good reason to buy a digital scale.

Well, the weighing scales (balance) differ in how they are read. They are both accurate almost all of the time. Digital scales, usually, can easily output up to grams/ounces. You can have an accurate reading such as 65.547 kg. while on an analog (the balance with the hands) scale, you see the hands point to the weight accurately but it would be hard for you to determine that it is indeed 65.547 kg.

You'll read it 65.5 but sometimes, even the grams do matter. Either way it will do its job and give you your weight. And yeah, just a tip, don't weigh everyday. It is not encouraging to see losing small amounts. Give it around 3-5 days per record.
