Bush to Speak at Convention on Labor Day Evening! | | For anyone who was wondering what the RNC would do with President Bush, the wait is over. It was announced the other day that he will speak at the Republican National Convention on Monday, September 1 - that's right, Bush is going to give his speech to the convention on the night of Labor Day. On one hand I must say this is ridiculous to have George W. Bush, who really doesn't know the meaning of "work" or "labor" speak on the day that honors the workers of this great nation. However, on the other hand, it makes perfect sense - talk about pre-made damage control! Let Bush speak on the evening of the day when many Americans will be partying all day long so by the time he speaks many will be either too drunk to know what he's saying or still partying so they won't even be tuned in! This may be the most intelligent thing the RNC has ever done! What do you guys think? To make it a discussion, how many of you are planning to watch the Republican National Convention in general and Bush's speech in particular? Annie

anniepa (5542) | 1 month ago | I'm trying to think which was his most memorable - the one about OB-GYN's practicing their love on women all across the country, the one about putting food on our families, the "childrens is learning" or "Fool me once...shame on...shame on.....you............Notgonnafoolmeagain."? ZephyrSun (1233) | 1 month ago | See to tell you how bad I hate his speaking, I didn't know any of those. When he says ummm for the third time I shut him off. The last one is his favorite. When I read the one about the OB/GYN I just kept thinking about all the OB's that has been arrested for "sharing their love".

ZephyrSun (1233) | 1 month ago | OMG, I was reading some of the responses and I just can't believe that people actually believe Bush was reelected LMAO Annie, I seriously do not know how you kindly respond to some people that post to your discussions, the ones that have no clue on history, the ones that live on another planet, or the ones that have their heads burried in the sand. If I could give you more than a + I would because you don't resort to name calling, and personally I would to tell them how ignorant they are. By the way my husband is an outside salesman, his area is all Republican. Die hard Republican famers, yesterday he seen his first McCain sign. He trys not to talk politics with his customers since he is not a Republican, but some insist on talking politics and they are NOT McCain supports.

ZephyrSun (1233) | 1 month ago | Thanks for the best response. But honestly I was the only one that wasn't "yay Bush" LMAO Somethings never change and I think all of the people that approve of Bush's job in office just happen to be mylotters lol all 14% of them

That's a lie; you probably could pay me enough. But anyway... You probably know I'm a Bush supporter, and just because he is a rotten public speaker, that doesn't mean he's a bad person, or even that he has bad ideas. And if I were him, my attitude toward the nation at this point would be,"F^?= you all", anyway, and I would be taking the following six months off. Because I'm that kind of person.

anniepa (5542) | 1 month ago | You're right, I kind of figured out you were a Bush supporter. Why did you go off your meds? (Now, I'm joking, don't take it personal!) Anyway, you're right, there are rotten public speakers who aren't bad people and there are even some rotten speakers who have good ideas...it just so happens that Bush isn't one of those people! President George W Bush is a fine speaker, I am looking forward to his speach, I may even have it recorded so I can play it over when Im not watching the Dems fall apart in mass confusion on election night this november. I am so looking forward to McCain taking Barrack HUSSEIN (the Wanna-be)Obama to the proverbial woodshed, and give the Left FOUR MORE YEARS of REPUBLICAN DOMINATION from the Oval Office. Annie, I got my chips and dip ready for OUR BIG Republican Pep Rally. Goooooo McCain, Beat Obama. Yaaaahhhh

anniepa (5542) | 1 month ago | NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I hate to say it will probably be a very small pep rally, judging from the polls. Very few Republicans are "excited" about their candidate while many Democrats are. You'd better get lots of noise-makers because when McBush starts speaking in that wonderful monotone you'll need something to keep you awake. Annie

kennyrose (766) | 1 month ago | May be MyLOters do not know George W. Bush took a failing ball club turned it around under his ownership, them men think a great deal of George W. Bush. One would be lead to believe George W. Bush is the most dark and evil man up on earth. Old saying of my great grand mothers if you don't have any thing decent to say best to say nothing at all. It is o.k. to remark about things we know for a fact, but most likely not one of us have the least clue to the job's G.W. Bush has had in his lifetime. Millions upon Millions of American's happen to think highly of their president,it is always the popular thing to do is kick some one when they are down, just not this American's style. In the heading of this post has been my reasoning people in the United States have a good life,as said people will be out drinking having a hell of a good time the day George W. Bush speaks. Just like on the fourth of July untold millions and more millions of America roasted trillions of hot dogs, guzzling tons of cold beer and soda pop, blow up a million buck in fireworks, having a good time, then people try to convince me American's have such a hard life under our present leadership, don't think so. American's are broke pay day to pay day because their want list over shadows their need list. But not all is lost American has the many millions that stay home on these kind of holidays, and the ones that are out getting drunk will catch up as the media will run George W.Bush's speech at least two days. But a lot could come down before Labor day,one if Israel even thinks Barack Obama will be the next president, they may take action against Iran and blow the holy hell out of Iran, which will put the U.S. in a hot bitter war,American's that have done nothing but complain about Iraq are well in tune, but with Iran it will be such hell maybe they at least will just shut up and except what they have no power what so ever to control. Israel is not going to take any chances with a wet behind the ear president, believing if Iran attacks them and if Barack Obama is the president of the U.S.A. he would not step up to the plate. Israel knows 110% George W. Bush is not a coward talking out both sides of his mouth,so while Bush is still president it would be in Israel favor to blast Iran getting the jump on them, and it very well could happen. If Iran dose what it said it will do,blow Israel off the face of the map,the world has 8 millions Jews murdered at the evil hands of Iran, the world is not going to set back again and let this happen. Barack Obama wants to play war but the fact is the real men are in war and ready to go to war any day now. So trust a lot may happen between to day and Nov 4,2008,Israel will be watching it all unfold and if it looks like the U.S. will actually fall in to very unexperienced hands they will jump on it,hide and watch.

| RFMaster08 (15) | 1 month ago | I know you dems and those Germans fall head over heals in love with great orators. Adolf for the Germans, Kennedy for you guys. Oh Obama is NO Kennedy. He's the proverbial " duck out of water" without a teleprompter too. Watch what happens Annie, The GOP faithful will come out of the woodwork not necessarily to vote for McCain but against Obama. More than you could imagine. Annie, Bush was re-elected during the height of our heaviest casualties in IRAQ. Why because Americans, those hard working labor types who you think Bush doesn't know much about (which you are totally wrong about) have alot of since about them, well those that haven't got there nose stuck up their AFLCIO union reps behind. Will vote for a President who puts the good of the country ahead of the extreme wing of his party's agenda. We don't want a European style Socialist "Nanny State" Government. The kind the "Looney Left" wants. We would rather have "another four years of Bush under McCain than another four years of Carter under Obama. Any Day. Hay annie, dem Republicans gonna open up a can of peaches on election night that those democrats ain't gonna like. I got my recliner already lubed up, and the chips and dips will be piled high. Cause we gonna spank that Democrat behind in November. Wahoooo!

anniepa (5542) | 1 month ago | Good luck on finding anyone who would rather have four more years of Bush than just about anything! People from the working class were scared into voting for Bush in 2004 but that isn't about to happen again. Fortunately, some people learn from their mistakes! Annie

| | 4. suspenseful (12096) | 1 month ago | So people who are rich are not allowed to speak on Labor Day. I guess if my husband wins some money and becomes an overnight millionaire, that he has the right to refuse. I will watch it. Bush is a good president, although a little boring for most. Besides as president he has to speak. He cannot refuse and say, "sorry I am a rich snob, and I never worked a day in my life, so I cannot speak or give you encouragement." That would be uncalled for. Oh except for Abraham Lincoln, most presidents have come from money. Oh he did work in his family's oil business and if I know how rich men got their sons to learn the business, it was probably from the ground up.

anniepa (5542) | 1 month ago | I never said he doesn't have the "right" to speak on Labor Day because he's rich. Hey, it's the GOP's convention so they can have whoever they want to speak whenever they want. I was simply pointing out the irony of the situation. I don't think it was ever a matter of him refusing, I think it's a matter of the party has an obligation to let him speak much as they'd no doubt prefer to hide him away somewhere. You're from Canada yet you say "Bush is a good president"; I'm down here in the states and I can tell you, no he isn't, and trust me, it has nothing to do with him being "boring"! He's screwed up the economy and screwed up his wars, leaving many dead and many more with permanent injuries. No, that isn't boring it's incompetence and arrogance. I seriously doubt that he worked from the ground up. Why would he when he had everything handed to him? Annie

| RFMaster08 (15) | 1 month ago | Suspenseful, I wouldn't take the word of a partisan democrat on whether George W Bush is or isn't a "good" president. Only history will be the final judge. There is the "hate" Bush crowd out there and no matter what President Bush is for they are against.

anniepa (5542) | 1 month ago | "Suspenseful, I wouldn't take the word of a partisan democrat on whether George W Bush is or isn't a "good" president." Apparently about 70% of Americans are partisan Democrats, then. Annie

| | | | | 5. terribleturtle (64) | 1 month ago | They may get him to speak, but I'll bet that they can't make him "sit" and "stay" or "roll over". I think hes trained to a certain point, but he doesn't have the intelligence to do the more complex commands. The convention is in Minnesota this time around and how many people there will be turning out to see a vocal display by a President when they could be fishing or swatting mosquitos while camping or boating. Labor Day is when summer just starts getting bearable in Minnesota, how many will stay inside and cheer for Bush? Most of then will be outside, drinking beer and peeing in one. Nice to see you again Annie. TT

As far as my knowledge goes, Mr Bush have lots of responsibilities to handle and take many hard decisions sometimes. So people are bound to express their diffence of opinions
