Supply and demand AND the fact that we are simply running out of petrolium in the ground to pump out are both major problems. We need to go to wind and solar power as sooon as possible! Only then will the cost of running ur homes and cars come down.

It is mainly due to the speculation involved that the price of oil has gone up. This affects the demand and supply. The way the present trend is, it is likely to keep going up and may go upt to $180 a barrel by the end of this year.

By far the main problem that has and is increasing the cost of cured oil is demand. The demand is never going to go down either. China and India have both become more prosperous and sick of riding bicycles. They want cars just like everyone else. Sad to say that they are both making more money off us. India through the internet and China through our wanting all that plastic stuff like (toys with lead) constantly from China. Lol, to top it all off, we are supporting slave labor and using more oil to make all that plastic crap EVERYONE sells now. Inda is getting rich by taking internet jobs that we should be getting. They have a car on the market that costs $2000. We all know how many people both these countries have. Not to mention Saudi Arabia that knows the cost is ruining our economy from within. They don't care if every American stops driving. They still have the rest of the world to sell to. At the same time they are getting richer and richer which may someday mean a flip flop of power in the world. The cost of oil is going up no matter what we do so we better do something and do it fast.
