Haha, I know what you mean. The WWW is full of terms you never hear anywhere else.

A referral is a person you get to sign up to a web site using your special and unique referral link.

When your referral earns money you also earn a little bit.

So on my web site I have a section describing Mylot and I have put a link for people to click on and go here - to Mylot.

If they sign up to join Mylot they become my referral because I referred them to Mylot so I get the credit.

Now the referral rate here is 25% so I get another quarter in addition to whatever they earn here. The referral does not pay me, Mylot does. So the referral earns the same amount as if he had joined Mylot from searching on Google without seeing my site at all.

Now 25% of 10c a day from one referral doesn't sound much but the Net is the numbers game. I have over 1,950 referrals in Mylot. See what I mean?
