Jacksonville Jaguars: The Team to Beat in 08? |
| |
| The Jacksonville Jaguars have recently been selected as Superbowl favorite by sport pundits and analysts. They recently signed their two defensive ends Harvey and (will sign) Groves to contracts. They're coming off a great 2007 season with big wins over tough opponents. Also, they have a quarterback coming off an amazing season, with only 3 interceptions and a 100 plus passer rating. Their offense has been improved with the acquisition of Jerry Porter from Oakland and they have a number of rising young wide-recievers and a one-two running back punch with Maurice Jones-Drew and Fred Taylor. Do you think they're the team to beat or is this just hype by the media? | | | | | |

| | The Patriots are the team to beat, and they will be beat. Jacksonville is that dark horse that comes from a small-market that noone necceseraly talks about but when it hangs around too long, it will doo damage. | | | | | | |

| | I think the Patriots' defense is getting old. Unfortunately, they have an easy schedule...so we'll see. | | | |

| | The Jags play in a tougher division though. But the Colts reign is coming down. | | | |

| | Yeah, I'm hoping this is the year. I'm really excited. I've been a huge Jags fan since they first came to Jacksonville. Been there in the defeats and the wins... | | | |

| | My dad, and my dad's side of the family is from Jacksonville, so naturally, they are my second favorite team. I am a huge diehard Raider fan, and a big football fan, and so I follow both teams as much as I can. The second game in Pittsgurgh last year was great/terrifying last year. | | | |

| | Hey, we got Joey Porter, so now we have something in common :D | | | |

| | I always like him, but just like when Randy Moss was here, they said they were going to be good there, but then they just didn't try and blamed it on Al Davis. I think that the next few years will be crucial for the Raiders. | | | |

| | How's your quarterback situation looking? | | | |

| | Well, I haven't been able to go the training camp because I've been busy, but from what I've read Russell has been doing good, but he bruised his arm against the helmet of McFadden, so he hasn't been throwing the last couple practices, but has been working on his footwork. He should be good by tommorow. Its the backup qb's I'm worried about... | | | |

| | Are you all following the new NFL trend of having just 2 quarterbacks? McFadden's meant to be really good, you all should have a solid ground attack this season. | | | |

| | I hope so. And no, I'm not buying the fact that 2qbs is enough. 3 is good. Who is your backup qb now that Gray is with the Colts? | | | |

| | We got Cleo Lemon from the Dolphins, yeah I agree with you with the 2 quarterback concept that's extremely risky, although it's rare to get your 3rd string quarterback to start. I think it'll actually hurt teams because it doesn't allow them to develop new quarterbacks for the future. | | | |

| | If Russell got to camp on time last year then McCown could have mentored him while Culpepper played. | | | |

| | Yeah, I think this trend of two quarterbacks will backfire on most teams. Starting quarterbacks are bound to get hurt sooner or later. But yeah I'm so excited about this upcoming season, the rookies are all amazing and I want to see how they perform and new coaches (defensive coach switch for the Jags). | | | |

| | What is your opinion on the preseason and the possible 17th game? | | | | | | |

| | I think I read somewhere that the players think the preseason should be cut down, but about a 17th game I didn't hear about that, what's that all about? Could you fill me in? | | | |

| | me too :D Time to silence the critics. So glad we signed Harvey. Just hope Porter can get healthy and we'll have a pretty awesome wide receiver corps. | | | |

| | The latter. New England is still New England, Indy is still Indy, and my Stillers are better this year, and Willie Parker is healthy, plus has Rashard Mendenahll to back him up, and Big Ben has some big targets to throw to, and he had the #2 passer rating AND the 2nd most TD passes in the AFC, behind Brady. Jax is in too tough of a conference, but they'd win the NFC hands down (of course, so would 1/2 of the teams in the AFC, lol!). | | | | | | |
