what is the first thing a successful teacher should do?

Difficult question and also very culture related too! I would make it so that students are comfortable around you, without you loosing the grip on the class. I dont know how you can manage that, it is a difficult balance. It will require some trial and error. Humor usually works good with students, just ensure that they still take you serious.

I think you should build a rapport to your students first so they won't get intimidated to you. Let them have the benefit of enjoying and learning at the same time. Of course, a teacher should also serve as a good role model to them and shower them with love.

I think that a sucessful teacher is one who understands that all people ae indiiduals. Teach the lessons in the curriculum, but respect each student's individuality, and understand that they have their own learning styles. Don' be too hard on a student if they do not catch on as fast as the rest of the world.

A teacher newly posted to a School should atleast introduce himself to the Students,listen to all the students in the Class introduce themselves and later tell them his do's and don'ts (rules). Encouragement can follow after.

Teacher is just popular among students,it's enough,for teacher they first should teach his students 'how to be a person',the knowldge is second.If a teacher is loved by students and he/she must be a popular amount teacherI am most a teacher because i study computer in a teacher college,so i have some mind for how to be a good teacher
