New to the Simpsons and I have questions

So, I am relatively new to being a Simpson's fan and want to know everything you know about it. What is your fav. episode and why? Same applies to character. Who got you into it?
For me I was introduced to it via a boyfriend. Now, I'm hooked on watching it.

well one thing i love about the simpsons is that they are still making episodes til this day. i love Homer becuase he just is so unpredictable and is always doing something crazy.

Amen. Homer is the typical idea of a bumbling drunk moron and people love that in their lives as a cartoon.

I ave watched the Simpsons since they were introduced on the TV show The Tracy Ullman Show many many years ago. Of course being a man I like Homer the best because he is a bumbling idiot that still manages to smile no matter what happens in his life. I have no real fave episode though. When they first started the drawings were very rough looking as opposed to what they look like now.
The Simpsons, created by cartoonist Matt Groening (and named for the members of his immediate family except for Bart, which is an anagram for Brat), first appeared in 1987 as a series of 30-second spots produced for the Emmy Award-winning variety series The Tracey Ullman Show.

I saw a Halloween episode the other night that was too funny. So far, that one is my fav. I can't recall the title. It goes by waaaaay too fast.

I really like the Halloween episodes but just don't ask me to chose one.
Can't really think of a character I like most as they all have things I like and dislike about them. I can't remember when I started watching them though but I remember reading how good it was and checked it out and became addicted.
It's been a while since I watched them as the channel that shows them has been taken off cable and the only other one that does here is way behind.
