Vantage Point is a highly suspenseful film, and probably the most exciting thriller to come out for a year or so. The movie lives up to its name by actually cataloging the perspective of several of the main characters as they watched the assassination of the U.S. president during an anti-terrorism summit in Spain.
Each perspective is retold, one after another, and each adds a new dimension to an unraveling puzzle. Though this description might make the movie sound tedious, it is anything but. If ever the cliche about being on the edge of your seat applied to a movie, it certainly applies to Vantage Point. It is literally inundated with twists and turns. The only bad thing is that a major twist is revealed in the trailer, but the movie, which runs at a break kneck pace at 90 minutes, has many more plot turns in store that even the spoiler in the trailer does not detract from the movie's surprises. As each "vantage" point is told, we see them increasingly intersect until we see a complete picture. This deconstructive approach towards telling a story is a bold and risky move made by the makers of Vantage Point, but it was so skillfully done, that it succeeded in entertaining me, as well as many of the audience members.
The action sequences, which each perspective has a bit of, is gripping to say the least. The car chase, which is deeply emmeshed in the story's climax, is the most engaging non-CGI enhanced car chase since Ronin.
I highly recommend Vantage Point to anyone who loves action and mystery, and likes to see them done well and originally.

That movie is really great! It captures you attention the entire time! I don't know if they do that currently, but it's a great idea! The ending made me so happy, I was worried about the president!

Yes, very good movie. It had me the entire time, too. That is a great idea with the doubles. I thought for sure that the President would be wearing bullet-proof type stuff, though.

I have never seen the movie but I have heard a lot of good things about it,and the way you make it sound makes me want me and my fiance to rent it so we can watch it, because we love watching movies, especially good action movies or good comedy movies, and we will go to the movie store and rent a couple movies every once in a while or if we are celebrating a special occasion.

yes it is a very good movie. i loved the wake the screenplay is done and the story told by each character reveals one part of the main plot. it is beautifully scripted and the actors too played their role in making it more beautiful.

Yes, I agree. I thought that was avery creative way to have the movie play out...replaying the event through the eyes of 8 people. Thanks
