We already know that cataract affects our vision. Cataract is a clouding of the lens, much like a fogged window.
The last time I had been with my doctor, she told me that I already cataract slowly growing in my right eye. So I was shocked.
And to remove the cataract and put back my vision clear again, I have to undergo surgery/operation in five years or maybe earlier.
Advanced cataract removal/surgery she mentioned is phacoemulsification with intraocular lens implantation which is too expensive I guess.
But:
it is painless;
no-stitch/suture;
fast as it can be done in less than 30 minutes;
no eye patching; and
vision will be recovered in less than 24 hours.

My sister had that done to both of her eyes. She had a form of muscular dystrophy that also causes cataracts and she got them in both eyes. She had surgery on one eye at a time and never complained! Apparently, it does not hurt, or at least it doesn't hurt much.
Good luck to you!

Hello neildc.
I have been told over the past 10 years that I have slow growing cataracts. They don't bother me much, my eyes have gradually adjusted to them. I do not want to get that intraocular lens implantation so I'm going to try to hold off on getting that done for as long as I can.
I recently had to get a laser procedure in one of my eyes due to a hole in my retina. And that was very scary. I want to avoid procedures like that, if at all possible.

i am also scared of the operation thought it wasn't yet scheduled. of all operations that maybe done to my body, i am most scared of an eye operation. i saw it when my mom had hers when i was still a kid. and also afraid of the expenses.

My mom had that done in both eyes. One was successful the other shifted and she still has to wear glasses to correct her vision. But all in all it is better than it was prior to surgery.

My older sister just had her cataract removed some 2 months ago but I don't know if it's an advanced surgery but she said it is not at all painful, and the operation was done very quickly. She just have to rest very well for a month after the operation and now she's back to normal. So my friend don't worry. Just like you said, Keep Smiling, have it removed the sooner the better!
