Hi,
I bought a house 6 or 7 years back.
Bought it with my parents, but I am the head owner.
Problem is, at that time I had a good job.
Pay was very well.
So, I liked being able to help buy the house, cause my
parents would never be able to get one by themselves.
My parents helped me with my children growing up.
And I am very great full.
They were better for my kids then for me, what I was very happy
about.
Then I lost my job, because the Nivea Beijerdorf, left Holland.
Great, know I have no job.
So I was asked to stay 3 months in Berlin to help teach the Nivea BDF,
there to work with two of our best machines from Holland.
Did that and was asked to stay in Berlin.
Great chance for me, because I would never get a good job again in
Holland as I am over 40 and a women.
To make a long story short.
My father, told me it was better to go to Berlin.
So I would still have a good income.
I talked with my children , they are adults now.
And everything seemed great.
6 months in Berlin, my back breaks down on me and I can no longer work.
I cannot pay the house in Holland anymore.
My dad got angry on the phone.
What can I do?
If this goes on, I will have no electricity, already we don't have enough to
eat every day.
Dad wants me come back to Holland and live in the house with them.
But, I am 42, I love it here.
The people here are more like me.
Coming from Canada, I have never felt at home in Holland.
I finally found a good man.
He is doing his best to help me too.
Am I being selfish staying here.
Am I being selfish asking them to sell the house?
When can i live life for me?
Take care, Margajoe

Is there some way they (Nivea) can give you a pension of some sort? You have been there for so long that you would think they would do something for their employees who have been loyal and stayed with them even through their move.
As for your parents, I am not sure what to tell you. I help my mom out quite a bit but, she only lives a block or so away. Is there not Social Security or something like that there? Sorry, I don't know much about Holland and Berlin.
Good luck with everything.

Hi,
Thanks for your comment.
Social security I had, but seems now that I no longer
live in the Netherlands.
I cannot use it.
Great hey, pay so many years and know I am living next door
and it is no longer valid.
Meaning I would have to go back to Holland.
I would love to help out more, but I don't want to go back.
What my parents don't understand is, where ever I stay
I will still have these money problems.
Here I know the doctors and such for my medical treatments
concerning my back and my depression.
I have never been helped that well in Holland.
I feel at home here.
As for Nivea, the firm in Holland has been closed down and the factory
here is not happy with me, since I got sick after only 6 months of work.
When you cannot walk, how do you work?
The stress got the best of me and I am in therapy.
I had been walking away for my stress for so many years.
Now I am paying the price fiscally.
Thanks for your support.
Take care, have a nice week.

One thing has gotten better, as of April 1st my house in the Netherlands has
been sold!!! I am very happy about that. We lost money on it. But now if my financial problems get any worse, they cannot take the house away.
One big problem less to worry about!
And the family is back on happy track again! No more misunderstandings.
Take care

You are working on having a good life where you are. It is true that you will not be able to work in manufacturing, but you could perhaps find a job in some other line of work. Do I understand that you are doing without food in Berlin to pay for the house in Holland. Your dad and mom can surely afford something to help out. I do not know what retired people do in countries other than the US. Basically, I am just trying to lend you moral support to have a good life for you.

Hi,
Thank-you for your comment.
My parents don't know that my frig is more empty
then full.
I am only buying the cheapest foods.
And that kind of food is very fattening.
I am gaining weight instead of losing is.
So, I have some reserve inside.hahaha.
As for work, I would love to go to work.
But my back is worn up.
If I can get a job where I don't have to walk to muck, don't
need to sit to much and don't need to stand to long.
What can I do?I have 1000 to go through the month on medical pay.
If I only need to look after me, I am okay.
I did not want to loose my job. Was working for Nivea for 10 years.
I never expected it to stop.
Don't get me wrong, I love my parents, but I just don't know what
to do.
For my Mom it would be better to live in a one floor house.
Yet my Dad does not want to leave there. His so called good memories,
whatever they are.
I thought parents were suppose to be responsible for the children,
not the other way around all the time.
I am tiered, and I don't want to make people angry, but it is becoming
to be to much for me to handle.
Thanks for your support.
