I love Australia and it is one of my favorite countries. It has unique wildlife, stunning landscapes and amazing coral reefs. I suggest going snorkeling around the Great Barrier Reef. Cairns or Airlie Beach are lovely destination for snorkeling trips on a boat, seeing nearby tropical islands and gorgeous beaches. Cape Tribulation is where the rain forest meets the sea. My favorite city is Sydney with its stunning looking harbor. It has the white sails of the opera house and a lovely harbor bridge. Kangaroo Island has much beauty and lots of wildlife. If I went over there again I think that I would love to do the Great Ocean Road. I hope that you will go to Australia one day soon.

Stop that right now! You are making me want to hop a plan and go this instant...but I can't. That trip will have to wait until the kids get older. All of those places sound so great and wonderful to see. I really hope to experience that someday.

I do have that affect on people! I worked with a man once and he went out at lunch time and bought a holiday to Greece. I have a 14 month old son and he went to Portugal last year, then to Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia this year. I just love traveling and it is my top hobby. I began planning to go to Australia in 1990 and made it over there by 1993. Good luck and happy traveling in the future.

Thanks for the input. I would also love to snorkel The Great Barrier Reef and go on some sort of jungle/wilderness type of Safari. Not one that you have to hunt on, just one to see all of the exotic Australlian amimals.

That is a very good dream my friend and I hope that one day you get to make it a reality and visit Australia, when it comes to what you need to do and take,I would say make sure you have a passport because I am sure you will need one,and I hope you are not afraid of flying,I would take lots of sunscreen since I have heard that you can get burned by the suns rays worse there.

I was in Australia 5 years ago, I visited Victoria state, mainly Melbourne. I love Great Ocean Road where life is - fish & chips, the sun, surfing, ocean and carelessness. If you plan to visit Sydney you should see National Opera House, of course :) The great part of Australia is dessert, red sands and wild life.
