A Hypothetical Law: Destroying of useless businesses

If there were to be a law set forth that stated that all unnecessary chains of businesses that were clumped together within a five mile radius were to be destroyed would you vote for it?
My fiance and I live in the country so we do not have to worry about businesses and such like this but if there were to be a law set forth of this stature I would definitely be voting for it. I feel that America has to many franchises that are really not necessary. In another county that sits adjacent to our own county, there are two food lions that sit within a ten mile radius of one another. I do not feel that this is necessary and wish that something could be done to stop such things from happening. I forgot to add this on the question itself, but I would also like to say that he land be restored!

I would vote for this in the UK. I don't think we have as big a problem here but I'm so sick of seeing starbucks every ten minutes. There used to be a law that similar businesses couldn't set up within a certain distance but I think it was got rid off.
Seeing the land restored would be great as more and more green belt land is disappearing with out of town shopping malls springing up everywhere with guess what all the same chain sores on them.

If they were a law that said all unnecessary business chains in that were clumped together in a five mile radius were to be destroyed I would definitely vote for it because nobody needs five McDonald's or five of the same bank so close together or even two Food Lions with in ten miles of each other,it is useless and causes nothing but trouble and I also wish that we could see the land restored,but you are right we live in the country so we do not have to worry about this,which I am glad about,I love you.
