Update on a recent unknown flower/plant  |

 A month ago I started a discussion about this plant when it was maybe 6 inches tall. It is now about 3 feet tall with white stringly like flowers all over it. I have seen a lot of these in my biking around in white, pink, blue, and purple. I think I recall someone mentioning what they had though it was and it seemed they said it looked like this. Can anyone help me identifying this plant/flower? Do you have flowers etc in your yard that you have no idea what it is?

I searched and found out this variety is called Prairie Blazing Star. Thanks bunches. I don't have the slightest clue on how to start a search without knowing the basic name of a plant etc. You're great at this and I truely and deeply appreciate this fully.

My mom and grandmas on both sides grew lots of plants, and I read lots of garden magazines. They are a great resource as well. I have seen books that you can look at and say something like "white spikes, 3 feet tall." and it will give you a list and you take it from there.

It's called Prairie Blazing Star.
Does appear to belong to the Liatris family.

She's a flower child herself, meaning that she loves flowers and if she was here, she would have them everywhere. She likes doing landscaping work too, but she's in Africa, and she's always telling me what new flower they planted in her yard and how she's has her yard all fixed up. I have some flowers here too, wild ones, I don't know what they are either, they're pretty a purple color.
