do you ever write tv or movie stars fan letters?  

Not normally, no, and never have done with an actor. Have done on occasion to writers, though, but only in a 'sent them an email about their book' way. Did exactly that with Scott Adams yesterday (the guy who writes/draws 'Dilbert'), about one of his books. But then, Scott's always actively encouraged people to email him about anything, and I suspect he gets half his ideas there. No matter how stupid a situation in a workplace he puts in his comic strip, he always gets someone writing to him and saying 'Oh, that happened here. You should hear what they're doing NOW...'

I never did as a child or teenager and am surely not going to start now....lol... As you yourself said, they do not read it anyway, so what would be the use of it? I think they get bothered enough by all the media and people always hanging around wherever they are, so I do not feel I need to add to all that harassment:)

I did it two years ago. I wrote to Zach braff, the main character of the sitcom "scrubs"

When I was 8 or 9 I did, I cant remember who it was now, but I never had a reply back with anything, at all.

I used to write to athletes when I was a kid and actually got a lot of autographs and memorabilia.

I am a Language Arts teacher and last year to teach writing a letter, I had my students write a business letter to actors/actresses, atheletes, corporations, etc. We actually got alot back.

I can't recall ever writing to a celebrity, moonlitmagikchild, but I did write to a variety of companies and brag on their products, or ask questions about their products and they would send me all kinds of junk. Either their products or items that advertised their products. This never worked when I wrote the car companies, though. I never got a car.

I have never done that until now, not even was interested in it...as u said, i dont think they would even be bothered to read our letters or reply to them and even if they do send a reply, it must be someone else and not they themselves

Yes, when I was a kid I got a book with different celebrities' bios and their addresses to write to them. I think I wrote to a couple but never got any photo or response.

I did when I was a pre-teen, I can't remember who all I wrote to.. but one that comes to mind was Jonathan Jackson. I actually got I think it was a autographed picture postcard. I thought that wa really cool, even if it was just something sent to all fans, I still thought it was cool! I haven't seen that thing in so long. I can't imagine that I would have thrown it away, but it could have been thrown out accidentally. I'm guessing that if it still exists I will find it once I go through all my stuff from moving. Other than that, I have met all 3 of my favorite bands, on several occasions, and I have pictures and autographs from those experiences, those I wouldn't trade for anything! I actually still have a book of celebrity addresses I bought a long time ago, but by now that may not be accurate.
