Steven Gerrard receives honourary university fellowship

ENGLAND and Liverpool football star Steven Gerrard received a university honorary fellowship at a graduation ceremony today. The 28-year-old midfielder, who was awarded the MBE last year, was given the honorary fellowship by Liverpool John Moores University. The accolade is being awarded to mark the Anfield club captain’s contribution to sport. During the same ceremony, staged at the Anglican Cathedral in Liverpool, songwriter Richard Stilgoe received an honorary fellowship in recognition of his outstanding contribution to musical theatre and his support for educating young people through performance art.
