I have seen here in myLot that some people want to learn how to type faster. I get a newsletter from worldstart.com every day and they have wonderful tips for using the computer and offer many different products at such great prices. One such product is called Typing Instructor Deluxe 15. It is a program that teaches a person the proper use of keyboarding and learning to type faster. It can be used by children and adults. There are several parts to this program: -You can create your own typing plan -There are suggested "next step" plans for fast learning -There is structured "touch typing" content -10-key content included -You can create your own lessons -plus more sections Right now, this is being offered at only $5.92!! And shipping is free(in the U.S.)!! Well, you can't beat that at Sears. Today is Thursday, July 31, 2008, and I don't know how much longer it will be at such a great price. I think this would be a great program to use as a subject for homeschooling, for someone who wants to brush up on their typing skills, to learn how to type using the correct fingers for the letters, or for someone who wants to learn to type from scratch. http://store.worldstart.com/product.php?productid=3819

Thanks for the link. I'm already pretty fast on the keyboard. But I did find a ton of other clearance sale CD-Roms on the site. I'm always looking for low price educational discs for my daughter. Thanks again!

You're welcome, Beauty Queen. I don't know if the same price is still valid or not, but it sure would be worth checking in to.

Here's what I did. I played with the Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing program for years in school and then I started chatting on AOL and then I wrote a (really bad) novel. And now I type an average of 40 words per minute. So, the moral of this story, is practice practice practice.

I've never used a typing program. I started out with the old one finger typing and moved up from there. Chatting had alot to do with it b/c I'd just naturally type faster to try to talk faster. I find that the more I practice the better I get. ~~MY OWN PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG AND BELIEVE IN YOURSELF**
