Can Anyone Suggest A Good RPG Game? |
| |
| I am trying to find a decent rpg game, offline or free-online. It doesn't have to be new. I'm also trying to find something that isn't graphics intensive.. I tried running elder scrolls oblivion but it's not running smoothly in my machine. | | | | | |

| | Adventure Quest.com is a very RPG game that has various other RPG Games associated with it in a storyline format. You train to be knights, sorcerers, book worm, vampire, werewolf, vampire slayer, mage, and etc. I haven't played it in a long time but it is a game that can get addicting! | | | | | | |

| | Hey, I almost tried Silkroad before, when I discovered MMORPGs (only last year). I tried 9 Dragons* first, though (*same genre, right?) and Last Chaos... then wasn't able to go about trying other games after that. MMORPGs just took too much of my time. | | | |

| | Am still fairly new to RPGs and am growing fond of them the more i play them. If your looking for a graphics based RPG that isn't too computer intesive, try RUNESCAPE. It's free online MMORPG but you can always decide whether to upgrade to a members account or not. It's not the best looking game to be honest (as its Java based) but its really fun. I tried looking for similar type games on the net but all they had were downloadable games, which i couldnt download because of my internet speed. You should definately check out RUNESCAPE. | | | | | | |

| | This is what you need to do: 1) Get the ZSNES Super nintento Emulator 2) Download the Final Fantasy 3/6 American Version Game 3) Play it! you can substitute step number 2 for Chrono Trigger, and my ALL time Favorite, Illusion of Gaia, or the Zelda game. These games are classics and the best games that ever existed if you ask me. | | | | | | |

| | oh yeah i had an emulator before and i played chrono trigger, yeah is indeed a great game. i've heard that final fantasy 6 was arguably the best in the series, but what about final fantasy 3? I've heard about zelda but have no idea about illusion of gaia, how do they compare against Chrono Trigger? | | | |

| | Final Fantasy 3/6 is the same game, but it's 6 in Japan and 3 in America. Illusion of Gaia and Zelda are AWESOME because of the way you FIGHT. because you actually use your sword and techniques instead of like in Chrono Trigger and FF where you choose what your attack is and everything like that. My favorite of all time is Illusion of Gaia and FFIII is a close second! I've beat both games several times and I never tire of them. | | | |

| | What's your system specification? When I had an NVIDIA AGP video card 64Mb memory, 512Mb RAM, and 1.52GHz CPU, I was able to play these: -The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, although not smoothly. But, since you were able to run (although not smoothly) it's sequel Oblivion, I think you can handle Morrowind. It has 2 expansions: Tribunal, and Bloodmoon. -I played Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2, which ran pretty well. You could try SW: KOTOR 1 first. Both are amazing games (although I didn't get to play the SW: KOTOR 1). Both received rave reviews. -If you haven't yet, Diablo II. Get the expansion for that, too. -Neverwinter Nights. Sort of like Diablo. Also absolutely awesome. With that above system, I didn't try the ones below, since my system wouldn't be up to it: -I don't know if your system can handle Titan Quest, but that's a great one too. -Also try if your system can handle Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, The Two Thrones, and Warrior Within. MMORPGs I've tried: -Last Chaos -9 Dragons +will try Shaiya :Recommended non-RPG: -Resident Evil series (actually, also an RPG). -House on Haunted Hill (haven't played this, but probably also an RPG like Resident Evil. Great reviews) -Ghost Recon -Medal of Honor -Call of Duty -Star Wars: Republic Commando (while you're at it, just try the other Star Wars games. Reviews are good on 'em.) If you're using NVIDIA (which I prefer), go here to test your system for readiness on some games [I'm not sure if it would work if you have ATI, but you can try if so]: http://www.nzone.com/cont... -NOTE that if the test says that your system doesn't pass the test (an item shows up in red), it doesn't mean that your system won't be able to handle the game. At times, it can run the game anyway, but it just wouldn't be able to handle it AS IT SHOULD. +I research about which are the great ones, and then I try 'em. You can also download demos first. +All of those games are top of the line. Go get 'em man! =') +But, then, they're just also only my taste. So, I just hope you'll like 'em too. ++Diablo III is in the works. My hands are itching. :'p | | | | | | |

| | Mine's p4 2.6c ghz, fx5500 256mb, 1gb ram. I have heard great things about star wars before and after reading your comment, i'll download them later. I have spent countless hours and even days in diablo a few years back, i've also played dungeon seige, it's something like diablo and is great too. i didn't enjoy neverwinter nights that much because it's too focused on the story and just became boring for me. With the specs above, do you think my system can run Titan Quest? Is it similar to diablo or something? About the mmorpgs you suggested, are they text based and are they free? Yea I agree that diablo III is something to wait for, maybe it's time for a desktop upgrade. Fallout 3 is coming out soon too! How about ps2 rpg games? I just like FFX & FFXII. Are there any other ps2 rpgs that come close to Final Fantasy? | | | |

| | For PS2, I suggest Persona 3, it has a really intense storyline, and the combat is turnbased like FF games. You can switch characters into battle, and the game revolves around going through an actual school year. I would also suggest the Persona 1 and 2. | | | |

| | Hi steady! Yeah, that spec's pretty good already. You can run Titan Quest on that one, based on the NVIDIA System Requirements Lab "testing center". You can also test your system. Just click on the link I've provided above (my first post). And yes, TQ looks like Diablo, although I haven't played TQ yet. But I really wanna try it. There are lots of places to see TQ, but the one on IGN.com is a good one: http://titanquestvault.ign.com. It's got screenshots, videos, game guides, mods, patches and all sorts of TQ-related stuff. I don't know though if the battle system is turn-based (i.e. you attack, then the monster attacks, then you get to attack again, then it attacks, and so on) like in Final Fantasy or Neverwinter Nights (unlike you, I got hooked on this one, though ='). The MMORPGs I suggested are also third-person games, with controllable 3D characters... I don't go for text-based ones. I HAVE TO see and control them in real-time and can't enjoy them otherwise. However, seeing as you're in the Philippines, I don't think those MMORPGs have specific clients for the Phils., but there's another one I forgot to mention: Granado Espada: Sword of the New World (or something like that). I think it's got a different name for the Phils., and there's a different installer for that too. http://www.granadoespada.com.ph/ http://ge.iahgames.com/Site/Content.aspx?Id=53 The Granado Espada Philippines Community Blog: http://veya-esthesia.blogspot.com/ Netopia probably have free installers for that. Come to think of it, some Internet shops have free copies of installers for online games =') For more free RPGs/MMORPGs, you can use the search word "free RPG" and "free MMORPG" on your favorite search engine and lots of sites will turn up on that =') For MMORPG in general (free-to-play or otherwise) you can start at MMORPG.com I can't give you opinions on console games though. I only go for PC ones =') +Thanks for the idea on Fallout. Gotta see that one too =') Happy gaming bro! =') | | | |

| | If you want a free MMORPG to play, i suggest Archlord or Shaiya. They are what I play for the most part. I'm also on FlyFF and Fiesta, but all fo these games require a download. Not sure if that waht you wanted, but they are free, they just require downloads. | | | | | | |

| | Hey, Shaiya and Last Chaos, the MMORPG that I mostly go into, came from the same company, Aeria Games and Entertainment. All their online games are free-to-play and look gorgeous =') Plus, there are always lots of new events. You can spend some real money for additional stuff, but I don't =') I go into online games on occassion, anyway. | | | |

| | The closest thing to an RPG that I have ever played on the computer is Diablo 2 which it is a pretty fun game, but you have to buy a c.d. from a store to play it,I have also heard the Runescape is a good game so you might want to try it and a friend of mine plays it a lot,I also have another friend of mine who likes the World Of Warcraft, and he said it is an awesome game, but I think for that one you might also have to buy a c.d. | | | | | | |
