The Montauk Monster

Has anybody seen pictures of this dead animal that washed up on a beach on Long Island? Search the net for "montauk monster" and you'll find stories and pictures. So what does everybody think it is? I think really it's probably a dog but it really does look a bit like something that we never knew existed!

i heard about that one on xm radio - i think it looks like a dog - but the facial abrasion ARE pretty weird and grotesque - http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,396182,00.html - wow - wish i could've pasted THAT link!
anyway - new picture looks much more like a very bloated male dog...
