Does it bother you when your Mylot friends fight?

At the end of the day we are all here to write our little bits and pieces,not here to fight!we have to accept that there are always going to be different opinions,and personalities that will clash,but thats the way that life is,its a forum,its meant for different opinions!it doesnt worry me too much,there will always people that will fall out,but im sure that they wil lend up friends again at some point.

Yes, cyntrow, this sort of thing does bother me. It bothers me to see my friends fight, because they are my friends, but it also bothers me because I find it destructive to the greater community. But that may just be me.

Ditto! People should feel free to express
their own version of the truth,
but not to denigrate others
for not having the same opinion!

I normally try to avoid those kinds of discussions.. but occasionally I have seen some of my friends fight and it wasn't pretty. I remember one person had lost a little boy.. and someone didn't like what she said and just trolled her.. the offender said things in the posts like... they were glad her son died and stuff like that... of course that discussion got deleted, and the person who was attacked quit mylot.

I try to stay out of the middle as much as possible. If things are getting too heated and I can think of a diplomatic way to possibly defuse the situation, I might speak up, but I do my best not to actually take sides; unless I feel really strongly about one side or the other.

I try to remain neutral if I can. But if it's something that I feel strongly enough about I will put my 3 cents in. I don't go out of my way to hurt anybody's feelings and I don't think a friend would be hurt just because I don't agree with a particular point of view.

But if I had two people I really respected and saw that they were in a heated argument I,like you, would try to play peacemaker. It either works or it doesn't. If it doesn't then I let them hash it out by themselves. I suppose I'm fortunate that most of my closer friends on myLot basically agree on most subjects or can at least agree to disagree on the ones we don't agree on.

I don't like arguing, it gives me a headache, but I do love a good debate. The only people I will argue with are the ones who don't look up facts, call other people names for disagreeing, misquote others or flat out lie to try to prove their point. Then look out! Crafty is coming thru and taking no prisoners!

I've had two people in 2 days just flat out lie and misquote something I said so I've had a few snippy angry moments the last couple of days. Oh well, I expect it so it doesn't surprise me, but I won't keep my mouth shut when that happens, though I never call anyone names or go too far out my way to upset anyone.

Arguements suck bigtime dude, and yea i can see where youre coming from. Its never fun to be caught in the middle of an arguement of any kind. Just hold tight to your peaceful nature.
