With the recent trades of big name players before deadline in MLB, it prompted me to think of who will be in the Hall of Fame when it is all said and done. Of the following, which ones will be in the Hall. If you say no, give a reason (not good enough, steroids, ego).
Here is the list with my vote:
*Barry Bonds--Should be, but I think they will blackball him like Pete Rose
*Mark McGwire/Sammy Sosa--Should be, but won't. Baseball used them to bring the sport back and then turned their back on them. Baseball is at the alltime popularity level because of them and they knew they entire time about the performance enhancers, I'm sure.
*Ken Griffey, Jr--Yes, one of the top 5 players to ever step on the field. One of the few these days to do it the right way.
*Frank Thomas--Yes
*Manny Ramirez--Yes, one of the best hitters of all time
*Derek Jeter--Yes. No big power numbers, but a true HOFer.
*AROD--No, he will surpass Barry Bonds one day, but I think his character will keep him out.
Add others that you can think of.

Alright, I am going to go off of your list.
Barry Bonds- No, just because all of the steroid talk around him. Whether this is true or not, no one will want him in.
Mark McGwire/ Sammy Sosa- No way. Both have all but been convicted of using steroids and performance enhancers. Also, Sosa's corked bat doesn't help his cause.
Ken Griffey, Jr.- No doubt. Solid player, hit 600 HR's. Those Home Runs really look big when you see that only five other players have done it, and only 3 of those players are clean (Mays, Ruth, Aaron). He is one of the alltime greats and a good person as well.
Frank Thomas- Massive home run total and high batting average. yes.
Manny Ramirez- Maybe. He hit a ton of home runs, but his character is going to count against him big time. He basically forced his way out of Boston.
Derek Jeter- He won so many championships and played the game the right way and had no ego issues. No power numbers but the leadership speaks for itself. he's in.
Alex Rodriguez- Yes. I believe that he will hit over 755 home runs. His character is iffy, but he is clean, so he will be in.

So, we agree that Junior, Frank Thomas, and Jeter are definates. I would agree that Manny's character may hurt him. Man, that dude can hit, though. I used to love Arod until recently. He appears clean, but you never know. Junior looks the best of all. He has 600+ and has done it cleanly. That is why I put him up with the top 5 to ever play the game. We'll miss him in Cincy. It's a shame it never really worked out here.
