I have just seen a response which triggered a new discussion in my tiny mind :) What do people consider being a nerd "is", when you call for support, say a computer technician.. do you automatically picture someone with intelligence, pocket protector and glasses.. or do you not judge on that level.. what/who do you consider to be a "nerd?"

lol well the computer technician is a intresting one, as i have worked in that industry and most of the people were your standard nerd, did nothing but play World of Warcraft and laugh at peoples computer problems as they were easy, to them, to sort out. But some of them wernt, they didnt look the part, some looked like they had just come out of a rough estate and were part of the 'cool' lot in school, but they said them selves they werent geeks but they did somtimes have that tendancy. So maby we are all a bit geekish but everyone has a diffrent amount of geek.

Pretty cool. I guess we all have a lil bot-o-geek/nerd in us. I find it interesting to gather other peoples opinions on this "sterotype", if that's what we can label it.

A Nerd is someone who knows all kind of information that really is not usable in day to day life - like the number of Storm Troopers in Star Wars. A Geek is someone who has a lot of knowledge but it is applicable to daily life - video game designers, computer tech, etc. I am a closet Geek LOL My hubby is 100% Geek and my son is somewhere between a Nerd and a Dork LOL
