Do you thank soldiers or veterans when you see them? email this discussion to a friend?

I try to do this all the time. Whether it is someone that I know or if I see a soldier or soldiers out in public, I try to let them know how appreciative I am for what they do. I have, on many occassions, went up to a soldier and just said, "Thank you." The reaction on their face is priceless and I can't say those words enough to our soldiers. My parents have been out to dinner and anonymously paid for soldiers meals. What about you, do you say thanks?

No problem. They are so deserving. These few words go a long way in the minds of a soldier, I'm sure. They have my respect and gratitude.

I think it is always good to let soldiers and veterans no how much we appreciate them for all they have done and all they have done for our countries, because of them we live freely without suffering from oppression or tyranny, and whenever I see a solider or a veteran I will go up to them and say thank you and I agree the expression on their faces is priceless, and I think that is really nice that you parents have anonymously paid for soldiers meals.

For what they do, there really isn't enough ways to thank them. I could never do the job they do.

Wow...what a great story and thanks for sharing what your parents did for them as well. It's good to know that there are people out there who places the sacrafice the soldiers do for us in high regaurd. Me, I have a greater reasonings for thanking soldiers when I see or meet them.

I was born in the war torn country of Viet Nam in 1973. By then, the war was over, but there was still the conflict and it was no place for the orphans that had no home. In a lovely orphanage called An Lac, the some 300 children needed to be evacuated. In order for such a task to be completed, the help from the United States military was needed. They brought a military plane to carry us to America...and there we were brought to Fort Benning. For that, I always hold the military near and dear to my heart.

I say thanks by sharing my story and always telling my soldier how proud of him I am.
