how do you like the movie? | | ive watched it. its different because we have different ancestors and different culture. but i find the story good. what i dont like about is that why did the geisha just her virginity in exchange forthe kimono. how important is the kimono to her? i pity her cause before the ending she killed herself. maybe, because she didnt get the chairman that she loved since she was a child or maybe, she didnt get what she wanted to be.

| | 3. spicysweetie21 (1345) | 9 months ago | I found that part of the story to be a bit diturbing, the whole losing the virginity with an auction thing, I love this book and movie so much that when i read it, i was only 19 at the time and knew how it had felt to be thrust into the "adult' world, how overwhelming it could be, I completely identified with the emotions she was going through I read the book after seeing the movie and it is so much more moving.... Im wondering if you saw the whole movie? In the book it is better explained that she goes on to live a very good life living as the chairmans "mistress" ( i forget what the word for it in the book is, maybe "danka" just going from memory)...she has a child with him and ends up very happy.
