Their occupation or job title?
Let's say you were communication solely via e-mail.. you send e-mail to
nurse @hospital.com
estimating@constructioncompany.com
support@computercompany.com
Would you assume the Nurse is a female, and the other 2 males?
When I do receive e-mails, so many say "Thank you Sir"
or "wow! you are a great guy", when I am female. LOL!
Have you ever made these assumptions?

Not at all. I've always been aware of the fool-proofs of gender identifications.
