what is the point of throwing a bachelor's party?

is it just a party where all your friends gather and they throw a party for you...or is it a party to farewell your bachelorhood....or is it an excuse to do something wrong for a day before you get married?

It is like a get together with all your male friends. There's really nothing wrong with it. As long that there is no monkey business involved. Like for example inviting a stripper to dance naked. That is not necessary.
