CSI want a movie star replacement for Grissom

I quit watching CSI a few years ago. Grissom was actually a character that had started to annoy me. And Sara even annoyed me more. Now CSI fans, please don't rake me over the coals for that.: ) I liked Warrick and am sorry he is leaving the show. I think Laurence Fishburne could be a good add on. Especially since he isn't coming in as the other's boss, that will make it better I think. It might make me more interested in checking back in on the show.

It would be interesting, but I would want a certain doomed theme to the show. First, I don't know of any genetic markers for being a serial killer. So, they'd have to make that up. And, if they are going to have this character be described as having such 'genetic markers' I would want the character to be plagued and haunted by this.

It is too corny otherwise. "Oh, it is all just a matter of choice." Seems nice and a good piece of fluff for people, but it is corny and naive. Alcoholism isn't just a matter of choice. It does not appear that transgendered people feel it is just a matter of choice nor would homosexual people agree with this idea.

However, the character could be portrayed as being good at catching serial killers because he thinks like them. This could lead to a dark situation where the character is driven to kill someone he believes is a serial killer but just can't prove it. It would be a sort of a doomed hero story.

William Petersen has been wanting to leave CSI for a couple of years. I think he is what really makes the show and it would not be the same without him. I really can not see how Laurence Fishburne would fill the spot left by Petersen.
