Ideal fonts to use in web design? | | | | What are some ideal fonts to use in web design? I know most sites say to stick to a sans-serif style font, but I've also seen serif fonts used well (namely, Georgia). So can anyone recommend some nice fonts to use for web design? I've already heard most recommendations centering around Arial, Helvetica and Verdana. Thanks! | | | | | | | | | | web services Microsoft® Private Cloud: Built for the Future. Learn about Systems! | | The reason people stick with these fonts is that not all browser and/or pcs support the more fancy ones, plus it should be easy and clean on the eye. I would stick with non (sans) serif fonts, less messy to look at in my opinion. If you have something like photoshop, coreldraw or even word, you can check out the font lists there and see what pleases you. Try in out in your web browser, and try to check it in more than one, eg. Firefox, Explorer, Flock. Hope that helps. | | | | | | | movicont (422)

| | Thanks! I guess I should've been more clear--I was looking for logo fonts, not just fonts for the text. I probably wouldn't pick any fancy fonts for the site's content, but the logo (an image) can be slightly more decorated. | | | | Ritz100 (523)

| | Ok, I understand what you mean now. Are you going to have rotation or movement in the logo or pic? If so, I would still use a san serif font. Do you have photoshop, or what are you going to use, each piece of design software comes with its own "host" of fonts. Some nice ones are the Lucida family, there are quite a few. | | | | | | | web services Microsoft® Private Cloud: Built for the Future. Learn about Systems! | | Base from your comment to Ritz, its fonts for your logos. Your selection should match your logo design, there are formal, informal, comic or fun fonts. Since the final result is an image, then you wont be worrying about your viewer not having them. My favorites are Dauphin for formal, Haettenschweiler, OzHandicraft, Memphis to name a few. Try googling from free fonts or visit this site http://www.urbanfonts.com/ to see them before you get them. | | | | | | | | | | Web Developer MS Degree 100%Online Master Degree - Internet Systems for Busy Web Developers!
