This Commercial is Getting Annoying!

I don't know whether or not you've seen the latest commercial for Swiffer cleaner. It's cute, at least the first time you view it. It has the mop trying to get back into the woman's life...by sending flowers and such. The problem is that there's a doorbell ringing in this commercial a couple of times, and it sounds just like my doorbell. If the TV is playing in the background and I don't realize that commercial is on, I jump when the doorbell rings. Not only that, but my doggies cannot get it into their heads that it's on TV and not our doorbell. They bark and run to the door every time this commercial is on. Grrr. Sure hope they stop showing this commercial real soon. So what about you? Is there a current or past commercial that really bugged you? Do you even pay attention to commercials?

Hey, Kenzie.....You remembered the commercial, didn't you? You remembered the product, didn't you? Well, that's all the company who made the commercial cares about, you know. A long time ago, I worked for a firm that judged the commercials for the various companies before they hit your tv. They really don't care if you find the commercial annoying, or if your dog barks at the doorbell, or if the cat dances in a tutu. All they want is for you to remember the name of the product and perhaps what it does. Sounds like this commercial has been a success from that point of view. Have a good 'un.

I'm sure that's the case. As I mentioned in another comment about the 'head-on' commercial. People remember the name. With me, though, if a commercial has irritated me, I will make sure I never buy it. (Okay, grandma said never to say never.) And having two doggies barking at nothing about every 40 minutes in the evening does not make me want to rush out and buy the product. Nope. I'd rather boycot them.

If so many people hate the commercials, doesn't it make you wonder for whom they're targeted?

I wonder why they show some commercials over and over and over again.

It does sound like that is a very annoying commercial and I am sorry that your dogs think it is your doorbell instead of the television, and I have to say I do not like any commercials as they are all annoying and they get played like one hundred times a day,so now I have gotten to where if a commercial comes on I will either change the channel or mute the television until the commercial goes off.

I don't pay attention to most commercials myself. I often take the time to daydream while they're on.

I agree, this commerical drives me up the wall. It's funny I saw the other posters response about the dogs. My dog also does this for this commercial(and anytime there is a doorbell on tv!) we though do have a doorbell and my boyfriends brother constantly does the annoying ring it 8000 times in a row when he come sover. Mydog hates it! lol

I wonder why our doggies cannot figure out it's on TV. My dogs have learned not to bark at the cats or other animals on television. Hmmm.

Um yeah, there is this one commercial that is really annoying has anyone else seen it and is it annoying for you as well. That head on commercial. Geeze: "Head on; apply directly to forehead." And they keep on repeating it over and over again. I'm like yeah enough already, I get it.

You're right. That one IS annoying. In fact, they even did another commercial mentioning how annoying the first one was. I guess it did get the product name embedded into everyone's head.

I think that they are so cute. I like the one with the men singing outside the window. That is so cute. I guess this is there way of saying that the regular way of cleaning is out of the door and this is the new and neat way to clean and Swifter might be on the top of what is used to clean right now. Have a good one.

Oh, I agree. The commercial is cute - the first time, and maybe the second. But they surely have been showing it a bunch where I live.

I've seen it but there's this little button on my remote and even though its almost worn out it still does the job, its called the mute button. I never watch commericals, they annoy me, I don't want to hear what they are selling, half the time I can't figure it out until the end anyway.
