Voices Can Be Deceiving...True Or Not?

I talk to several people on a regular basis daily on the phone. These people I haven't met personally. Usually they'd place my age at approximately ten years short of my real one. They'd say I sound very young. I'm flattered, of course. Who wouldn't be. Sometimes when we hear somebody on the phone or on the radio, we tend to create an image based on the voice. Unfortunately, there are instances when the physical image would fall short of our expectations. A radio personality who sounds like an angel may not look like one. So when somebody tells me that I sound very young and sweet, my usual retort would be voices can be deceiving. What do you think? Share your stories.

OH YEAH they sure can. I have a very "young" sounding voice as well. I used to work as a telemarketer and people were unreceptive to me calling. Many times they didn't take me seriously, thinking I was a teen prankster.
I also sound much like my eldest sister and my best friend on the phone, so have dealt with little mistaken identity when calling mutual aquaintences or answering the phone at these to gals homes...hehe that can be fun and amusing in itself:)
