A question about rating your own topics.

Should you give bad ratings to those that reduce your informative thread to a squabbling, name-calling kindergarten? Even if their information may or may not be useful beyond the first response?

I try not to. There have been times when I rate someone who responded poorly if they just give a one or two word response. What is it they are even doing? It is not worth their time nor mine. And for those who intentionally try to deflate a discussion or person I take them off my friends list.

I am guilty of the occasional one or two word response, but it is usually just to agree and not spew a bunch of stuff that has already been said. lol.

Hmmm.. I don't rate those who have really nothing to say (what I mean is, the posts that are not even related to my topic) and the only time I give a negative rating is if the response is really extreme and degrading. So far, at least, I've only done that once.

I haven't negative rated yet, but have been tempted to do so.
