What the heck is the point of a minimum payout, anyways?   email this discussion to a friend?

I've always wondered this in my head for a long time since I began earning online in various sites. Why is there a minimum payout? It never really made sense to me. I get the idea of it at the beginning when new sites are unstable & still working out the kinks in their system but after all that is solved and they have reliable advertisers, what's the hold-up? I wouldn't mind requesting payout & receiving it next month, I just don't like the idea that there is a minimum payout in the first place.

My only other thought is that having a minimum payout is for the thought that some advertisers might bail out or just not pay the site, in which case it's a good idea to collect funds just in case to keep the legitimacy of the site in-tact..

However, an easy fix to that would be to just not 100% guarantee the earnings. If an advertiser bails out, the ad's you clicked that corresponded to that advertiser would just be removed. Problem solved! lol

Do you feel the same way? What're your thoughts on the point of a minimum payout on some sites? blink

Well there could be a number of reasons for this really. Firstly, there may be a minimum payout amount because of the costs involved to actually make the transfer. And a second reason might be because portals like this would probably have a solid number of people that actually quit using the site long before they even reach the minimum amount! Having rules in place that state that accounts will be cleared if a user is inactive for any longer than a certain period of time also backs this point.

So like most things in life it becomes a survival of the fittest. If we do put in the efforts then we make minimum payput and get paid. If we give up before making the minimums then what site wants inactive members and why should they reward this type of user?

i think that it is mostly becose there are a lot of members on the site so if all would asking for payments every day then the admin will have a lot of working to do all this payments every day

Other than one of the reasons for the scam PTCs for not paying (or at least stall) and would be a lot of work for the admins to process the payment if members ask for payout everyday, I think maybe they need time to invest the money somewhere else. Maybe they have other business or something.

If you suggest the clicks we've made on bailed-out advertisers should be removed, I think it would just add the reasons for the scam PTCs for not paying us. They can just decrease our amount of clicks and say the advertisers scam them. How could we ever know if it's true or not? Or maybe we could?
