Man cuts off own head with chainsaw and it is understood police are not treating his death as suspicious.
Does something strike you as incongruous here? I mean chainsaws are potentially lethal, but exactly how do you manage to cut off your own head?
Ok, so I guess you could gaffer tape the throttle open but even then you'd need to hold it still.
Hmmmm, so if you had a big old heavy saw, say an old Danarm 110 or something like that, maybe you could arrange for the handle to be fastened to the floor like a pivot. Prop the saw up and lie underneath it, then knock the pivot out. But if anyone is going to go to all that trouble aren't there easier, not to say less painful was of topping yourself?

Oh how horrible, I couldn't really imagine any one doing this, how distressed would a person have to be to do this or maybe the police are just not interested in looking further...

It is so horrible to have this happen by the man who chainsawed his own head. I wonder why he did so. Life is short. And we have only one life. Why didn't he value his life? I am so sorry to hear the sad news. Anyway bless him in his world.

Ok, I don't get this one. I've seen ppl cut down tree limbs with chainsaws and their not the easiest things to handle. Even if you were dimwitted enough to try it, chances are the minute you cut into your neck the pain is going to cause you to drop it. Where it will either turn off automatically or spin around on the ground. If, like you said, you wedged it into a space for support and then pressed your neck against blade, chances are the pain and loss of blood would cause you to pass out and you'd fall on the ground. The most you'd end up with is a vicious cut on your neck...you would more than likely end up in the hospital. But I can't see anyone actually succeeding in cutting off their own head. Like you said, there's got to be an easier way. Set fire to yourself, OD, throw yourself in front of an 18 wheeler or jump off the roof of your house. Gruesome but true.
