Is it really impossible to lick your elbow?

I've heard that some people could actually do it. Does it depend on your flexibility? If people can actually do it, then why do they always say it's not possible to lick your elbow? And for some reason, whenever this question is asked, people actually decide to try licking their elbows (I know how you feel).
