Friday Night I' m Finally Doing a New Volunteer DJ Gig Again!! I am Nervous!!!!

I haven't done a volunteer DJ gig for almost a year now because I have been too ill. But, I finally decided it was time. Prior to my sabbatical I did it for about 7 years mixed in with a few paying jobs. I am a little nervous since I don't know the people well and don't know their music preferences at all.
I have made up 9 cds with a wild mixture of songs so that I can try just about everything. I am pretty sure something will be to their taste.
So, what do you do when you have to walk into a new situation cold?

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I used to be able to get out there and dance to get them all started. I can no longer do that. So this time I am bring all of my percussion instruments to get them moving and doing something. Sort of hands on. Something anything to get them on their feet and going!
