Hi Bebs! Oh so it's a big problem you are having with fleas round your house! It's really going to drive you crazy. I've had this problem before with our pet dog that spread fleas in our household and it really took sometime and lots of patience before we were able to destroy and get rid of all the fleas. Have you tried using vacuum? Do it in the whole house paying more attention on the dark corners and even under all the furniture, beds, and all the rugs down and under, even all the cupboards, the cabinets actually leave no space in your house. And also your yards and garden. I believe the vacuum is very effective just make sure you dispose the vacuum bag completely or better yet burn it so that all the fleas, eggs or larvae that have been sucked will be totally destroyed. Also wash your rugs with hot water if possible and let them dry under the sun. Yes, you should spray as well but the fleas that are still in the cocoons they say are not affected by insecticides because they are watertight and protected by the cocoon. That's why if you can vacuum them and then burn them you have succeeded in killing them really. And also the spray that you should use must contain Insect Growth Regulator. I can't remember anymore the brand that I used but you can consult the dealers near you about this. Hope I have helped you.

And by the way, don't forget, you have to treat your pet from where the fleas come from.

Oh!! that was a very good suggestion my friend. I did vacuum the area specially on the carpeted area. The problem is I did not take out the vacuum bag. Oh no... maybe there are still plenty in there. We also bought fleas spray, shampoo for th cat to get rid of fleas. We spend enough money for this problem already. I wash all the rags and dry it. But until now there are still a lot crawling in my legs while I am typing. It drives me crazy...

You've got to take out the bag and have them burned otherwise they will continue on hatching and total eradication will not be possible. I hope you can get of rid them the soonest.

Hi Bebs, We have that also whenever we will open our door during weekends to have some fresh air and at the same time save the consumption of eletric power! We have used a spray to kill these insects and it's working so far! I will even spray in our trash bin since there are many flies too and a lot of times I will be chasing these flies inside the house, I hate seeing them!

I would say the first thing is to get something that will cause the fleas to avoid your cat. There are chemicals that will do that with just drops on the scruff of the neck. Then add a flea collar to double up. Then lot's of spraying over time.

Our cat has a flea collar but it doesn't work to get rid of the fleas. We also have some sprayed chemicals for treatment but still all don't work. Maybe needs more proper treatment. My step daughter was the one caring for the cat for it is her pet. Sometimes she is too lazy to do it.

Some friends of ours were having that problem a few weeks ago, they had fleas all over the inside of the house, they had some dogs that stayed under the house all the time. They said they tried everything to get rid of the fleas but nothing worked, they finally had to get someone to come and spray the house, they had to stay out of the house for a few days. They said it worked, the fleas are gone, plus they had to de-flea the dogs too. Thats the only thing that worked for them, I don't know how expensive it is tho.

Oh!! no!! we can not afford anymore to spend more for that. We already spend for the treatment of the cat and for the different spraying materials we bought...We can not spend more. We will just vacuum everyday and spray...

I hate fleas. Once they're in, they're very hard to get rid of. You can try buying flea bombs at the store, and they help, but if you have a severe infestation, they won't do much good. You should give your cat a flea bath (if possible) and then get a flea treatment from your vet. Frontline is supposed to be good, but there are other options as well. You apply these to the back of your cat's neck once a month, and it's supposed to keep the fleas off your cat. You can also buy "generic" versions at the store, but I find them less effective. For the fleas that are already in, if the bombing doesn't work, you may have to get a professional pest removal service. I believe the charge for fleas is about 75 dollars or so, although I'm sure that varies greatly by area and company, size of house, etc. I've had that done twice, and it works excellent - no problems until the following year, when it starts getting warm again. Best of luck!
