I recently had my cellphone smashed by not just one but by two cars, The brand of phone I use is LG and the service company is Alltel,my fiance and I both hope that there is insurance on the phone,as it is in my mother's name and neither myself,my fiance or my mom are sure on whether there is insurance on the phone,The cellphone was smushed by two cars at my fiance's mother's neighborhood, where we had gone to give her mom somethings and then left and on the way decided to throw an exercise machine that we figured would not sell, away at her mom's dumpster,we live twenty minutes away from her mom in another county, and did not realize that the cellphone was missing until we got home and were going into the house,we looked into my dad's truck which we were driving because of insurance and gas costs, but did not see it in the floorboard and it could not have gotten behind the seats as the cab was very small and their is a seat in the middle as well,my fiance and I went inside and called her mom,and her aunt who was there agreed to go look for the phone outside and then at the dumpsters,we called the phone so that if it was in her proximity at the time she would hear it ring,we told her that we would be there in twenty minutes and when we arrived she opened the door and handed my fiance the phone,my fiance and I both thought that the phone was okay, because it was in it's case and sort of sealed so that at first glance you could not tell it was smushed,My fiance and I both tried to turn it on and dial numbers but to no avail,it was literally smushed, but at least not completely flattened or in smithereens, like I said above hopefully we have insurance so that it won't cost anything to get another phone, but if it does my fiance and I both think that it would only cost $19.00 if our family plan was renewed for two more years,So have any of you ever broken a phone like I described above?Did you have to pay for your phone?Did you know whether you had insurance? Were the people at your service provider friendly?Did you get a new model phone or the same that you had before?Did you see it being damaged if you did not yourself damage it?Were you mad?Upset?Worried?Did you have the money right away to fix it if it required money to be fixed? Were you more careful with your phones?I would also like to add that I used to have Sprint for a cell phone provider and that phone I wanted to break, and there was one time when I was an intern for a computer store for school, and I dropped my Sprint phone in the toilet, after that it did not work anymore,so we took it to the Sprint store and they gave me a new one,I will appreciate all responses I get on this discussion, but please take this discussions seriously,as I ask with all my discussions, and give me honest straight forward answers,I promise I will comment on every response I get,but the comments will only be as good as the responses, have a great day.

Hi hellcowboy,
I have not tried any of those experiences that you have mentioned...I had 7 cellphones in the past but all of them were in good condition except my first phone which I sold after 6 months with me since I wanted a new unit..The rest are with my Parents and Sister!

I was on my way out to work & when I got out to my car, I had my keys, my cell. phone & a cup of coffee in my hand... Just as I was opening the car door, I realized that I forgot my wallet in the house so I put the coffee & cell. phone on top of the car roof, walked back into the house... I grabbed my wallet, came back out to my car, grabbed my coffee, got in the car & started backing out of the driveway... When I stopped at the end of the drive way, I thought I heard something weird on the roof of the car but I really didn't pay attention... As I started backing up again, I hear a crunch sound so I stopped the car, & since my car was hanging half way out into the street, I thought I'd better pull it back into the drive way & as I started driving forward, I hear it again except little fainter this time... I get out of the car & there it was, my cell. phone in my driveway, in pieces... Here it slid down from the car roof & I ran over it twice, comming & going, so to speak... So I only ran over my cell. phone with one car, my own, but I ran over it twice, within 15 second interval... I didn't have insurance & I just went out & bought myself a new phone that day...

I am sorry to hear that, that happened to you and I know sometimes it is hard to remember some of the smallest things such as the cell phone, but it makes me feel a little bit better knowing that I am not the only one whose cell phone got destroyed by a vehicle, and that is cool that you went out and bought a new phone, and most likely I will have to get a new phone,I just hope it will not cost to much, thanks for responding, have a great day, good luck in your life, and Happy Posting.
