Well we are in for higher fines if the water restrictions are violated in Los Angeles. They even mentioned not serving water to customers in resturants, unless they ask for it. Now I have always assumed that the water was given just in case a person may choke on their food, the water would be on hand. Although I do not plan on choking at any meal, I will ask for it every time. I just feel safer knowing that it is there, but I digress.
Anyway, so they will be charges more than before in fines for people who do not adhere to the new limits of outdoor water use. I know that there have been many times when I have walked by someone's house and saw the water running freely on the lawn. That is just a shameful waste and I can not blame them for cracking down on those that do this.
Just because you do not mind your water bill going through the roof, does not mean that you are free to waste water. If you are living in Los Angeles or just want to speak your mind, read over the new restrictions and tell me what you think.

I was out that way last year, the dryness of the land surprised me. This year its the same way. Water is essential to life, when you don't have an abundent supply of it you have to be careful. I am fortunate, I live close to the Great Lakes, we have an abundent supply of fresh water, we can use as much as we want. We have also had lots of rain. I remember a few years ago when you guys were having torrential rains and then mudslides. Its either, or, out that way, no happy in between. The LA area must conserve on water usage, for the better of everybody. You drive along the coast and see all that water and think you have plenty, but it doesn't work that way. We all have rules to follow, if you don't follow them then you get punished, thats life sometimes.

My husband and I don't really waste water anyway, but it's crazy that where we live, we could be fined if we were caught outside washing our dogs or something. I think, and this may have changed for my couty, that you are only allowed one Saturday a month to wash a car. Like I said, this stuff doesn't really affect me all that much, but I just think that it's crazy some of the things involving water you better not be caught doing. LIke you said, water running on lawns for no apparent reason...fine them or fine the people that wash their cars and leave the hose running while they soap up the car. I dunno. Just don't punish everyone for some people not thinking.

That seems pretty radical. It must really be getting bad. Hopefully they will get rain soon and help.

Rozie I see nothing wrong with not getting a glass of water in a restaurant because most people do not drink their water. Why waste it? I drink lots of water and most of the time that is all I drink in restaurants so I do not waste my water.
I think people should be more water conscious we are our second year of drought so we need to conserve.
