Talking About Medals

How many medals have your country won so far in the present Olympics in Beijing? How do you feel about it? Who among the athletes your country sent is the most prolific? Do you think that the sports program in your nation can still be improved?

Hi diutay, I have not been watching the Olympics mush but at the moment the British clyclist are wing the most medals and Bradley and Chris Hoyle is winnging all the gold medals. Tamara

I kept up with the news but didn't have an opportunity to watch any event nor the opening program. Congratulations though for your country's wins.

My country has not win any medal yet so far. Anyway, we are expecting either a Silver or Gold medal on this coming Sunday in the badminton male single event. It would be a historical moment if Lee Chong Wei manages to win the GOLD medal. It would be the first medal. However, the opponent is from China and sure has more supporters, not a easy match. :)

My country has won only one medal so far. It has been so for almost all the olympics. We never won more than one medal and we send lots of athletes and sports men to get that one medal. Sports program in my country needs a major revamp. There are many athletes with lots of talent but they are not in the people sent due to corruption in sports bodies

That's too bad. I remembered the comment of my students when I asked him if he's watching the Olympics. He said that it's a political event.

I am not sure how many medals my country has won :D But I can tell you it isn't much.. And yes we CAN and MUST improve our sports program.. BTW I live in belgium :D

So far, my country hasn't won any and truth be told I am not really that optimistic about it. I believe in the capacity of our athletes but they're sorely in need of support.
