Website Shut Down and Change it to Art Gallery

I decided to replace gift store and service offered in my website to art gallery and blog only. It wasn't easy for me to let it go. I tried for at least two years but no customers and lack of traffic two years. I improvised several time. Some people were very kind and gave me review honestly. I appreciated them for helping out, but it was the time for me to let Gift Store, etc... go that all. I keep blog and art gallery that all I can do for website now. I am going back to college in next week, so I don't have much time except blog and upload artwork that I create. What do you think about my decision. I really would like to have them back someday if I have more traffic and customers. Do you have experience with similar situation that I am in? If so, share and maybe encourage others and me to look other way to make it better.
