Wii RPG's  

No I haven't gotten one of those yet. I was thinking about going wasabi, with a wiiclip though. I want to find somewhere in country (Canada) that sells them so I don't have to wait 2-3 weeks for it to clear customs.

Well interacting with a bunch of people doesn't constitute an rpg in and of itself (Counterstrike does the same thing (lots of people) and it's not an rpg.) However I've played Runescape and yes, it is an RPG. But if they make a Wii version they need to do one thing; Bump up the graphics. Runescapes grahics are really... blah. There's a whole lot of stuff to do and mini skills to level and stuff.
But I don't really want an mmorpg. Just a regular old console style rpg. A Final Fantasy that *isn't* Crystal Chronicles, maybe a Breath of Fire or something...
That and I suppose Runescape would need to alter their controls. Not a fan of the whole 'point and click' school ov navigating a world map... unless it's a strategy/rpg like Fire Emblem or Super Robot Taisen.

Guess what I 'want' is one of the umpteen RPG franchises who started out with nintendo to come back to the console. But heck I also expect a good storyline, which has been severely lacking since... 1999ish

DQVIII wasn't on the Wii it was PS2 exclusive >.> I think you mean DQIX aka Dragon Quest Swords aka Dragon Quest Swords : The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors.
And yeah, most of the people I know with one have the same complaint. Bet ya more than half of the rpg's "for the system" are actually VC versions of older games, which in it's own right is awesome. Get some of these 'little people' to play some of the games that came out back before graphics were more important than storyline.

I know it's not on the Wii, that's why I said I WISH it was on the Wii. I own it on PS2 and it's great, but seems simple enough to do on the Wii.

Yeah, DS has some pretty nice games on it. And then later, presuming of course it gets brought over to north america, we get Dragon Quest 9 on the DS as well.
