be honest with this question, its very somple.

I tend to believe that religion is the root of all evil, but I don't know if I'd go so far as to say the world would be a better place without it. The idea of it not existing is too impossible to even imagine.

I don't have a problem with religion at all and do not think it causes a lot of problems in the world at all. I think CHURCHES are the ones causing the problems by telling people what to believe, how to believe it and how to treat those not of the same faith.

Of course no, it will be better if we follow our religions but unfortunately no one follows his religion even Muslims .. I'm Muslim so i will talk about Islam .. well, before Islam, Most of the Arabs were very ignorant, they killed their daughters, married hundreds of wives, worshipped stones, were always drunk, .. etc and when Islam came, they stopped doing everything forbidden and all these things are forbidden in Islam and they became great people which are remembered in history and Muslims in the past had a great civilization .. But God (SWT) don't help except those who work hard while worshipping Him, not just lazy believers and thats why most Muslims now are ignorant cause they don't follow Islam as well as not working hard, if they followed Islam, they would work hard cause working hard is from the principles of Islam .. And also by religion (not only Islam), no one will steal, lie, cheat, kill,..etc so people will love each other and the world will be better, it would be heaven on earth but we know that this won't happen cause we are not in heaven and people don't even try to know more about their religions as well as respecting other religions.
And don't forget when every prophet came, the world became better but after that people forgot about their religions and became ignorants.

Let's put it this way: Will the world be worse without religion? It's a very theoritical question and there would be endless debates about this topic*It's something like the egg and chicken question.* Lol.

Well, personally, I do not have any personal beliefs and I am of no religion. It states on my Identity Card as me being a Free thinker, someone who believes in myself.

It has nothing to do with religion. Actually, if you were to take a closer look at all religions, be it Muslims, Jewish, Christains and etc.. All of the religions preach of the good values in life.. All preach of love, of commitment, of abiding by the laws. It's all up to man's perception and interpretations of what they believe to be the truth!

The root of all even, and the cause of all worlds are in fact us, human beings. And we use religion as a shield to commit all of these atronities! Which religion preach of killing and suicide as something that ought to be done, I wonder. But, that is happening.. From the war between the different denominations of Christians in Ireland to the hajid wars of the Muslims against the Americans, and what not. The list just runs on.. All of these are created by men. What's new?

So, nope, I don't agree with you that the world would be a much better place without religion. My belief is that it would still be more or less the same as right now. Without religion, perhapes when people commit these crimes, they would no longer be hiding behind their religion by saying that they are just doing it because their gods asked them to do it.. and we would stand up to these crimes and no longer have to go round the bush to get to the issue because of the sensitivity of this very issue - religion.

Religion only cause conflict. People fight for their beliefs. I am not an atheist but i certainly think that a world without religion would be so much better. Still, I dont believe that would be possible. Even if there was no God and no religion, man would still have created them.

No!! If no religion No fear left in Man.. Our ancestors have created this religion so that we develop a fear of the almighty coz they knew if V dont ve any fear of something more powerful than us than V ll make this earth a Hell!!

Without religion yes the world would be a much better person that also being said a world without spirituality would be a world incomplete. Religion is man's selfish need to try and use something good for their own means but spirituality is something inside wanting to do right live according to some uplifting beliefs the basic of beliefs. To me this comes from within not from some bible or going to some building during the week it is through living what you believe.
So by all means get rid of all religion for a person can be spiritual without religion but a person with religion is not always spiritual
