Do you wash your leather shoes?

Of course the tennis shoes I am washing them when they need to be washed. But for the leather shoes? Do you wash them when they get dirty? or just wipe them and shine them? I'm just curious because others said it will ruin your shoes when you wash them. But others also wash them with soap and water then dry them under the sun before they will apply shoe polish. What is best?
What about you? Can you share your experience on this of what is best?

Hmmm…
I will just wipe hem clean, then sun them for a day or two to kill the grems inside.
I think that will be the most effective way.
I also sun shoes every week, even when I don’t wash them.
It gets rid of the smell and I think it is more hygienic.

Oh really??? I'm glad you shared that.. I think the idea of putting shoes under the sun is really good. I will to that too.. thanks for sharing this.
