So where were the weapons of mass destruction?

It's just plain crazy to me that we still have troops in Iraq and Afghanistan fighting "The War On Terror." I thought we were fooled? I thought it was proven that there were no terrorists, no 19 kamikaze pilots, no weapons of mass destruction? So why are we still not in full support of a troop withdrawal? Why is there any debate. Even I know it cannot happen overnight but when? Am I the only one with loved ones overseas? Am I just a disillusioned mind with conspiracy theory in my head? Just a thought what do you think?

I understand people who want the troops home; I'm an Air Force wife from a military family, and I know how hard it is to have a loved one overseas. But we can't simply leave; things are too unstable and they can't control things over there by themselves yet. When the Nazis fell in WWII, American forces stayed behind for quite some time to stabilize things - this is really no different. So we haven't found WMD's - there's a lot of desert to search AND we gave Saddam plenty of time to hide them. Besides, if you want my opinion, we took out Iraq's biggest weapons of mass destruction when we got Saddam and his sons - what they were doing to their own people was unconscionable.

Thank you for that response. My concern is are we being hoodwinked by our own government? It is hard for me to believe anything going on, especially since 9/11. I believe tis whole fiasco in the Middle East was fueled from the sentiment of 9/11 and as I believe this was a massive cover up/conspiracy it is hard for me to accept anything just spoon fed to us by our media and government. I worded my post the way it was purposely to get responses and get people talking about these things. As you see I have already been "attacked" before my views were even on the table(see first reply). It's is all good and I do what I do on purpose. Love these discussions and again thank you for your response.

I didn't want a war, but they didn't listen to me! And if you speak out too much you might get arrested and accused of terrorism - actually do they know where we live?

I think they are already watching me now. I do not care so long as the questions are asked and the truth be brought to light. I guess things like this are taboo to discuss as I have had some discussions deleted from MyLot. I try to stay within the lines but these things need to be said and investigated..
