do you use either a hot water bottle or electric blanket?

It is pretty cold here at the moment and I like to take a hot water bottle to bed with me. When I was younger and lived down south I think we had hot water bottles, but I don't use them now. I think it is better for the environment for me to use the hot water bottle and not use as much electricity? What do you think?

I always prefer hot water bottles if I am cold in bed. Not because of electricity but because as you warm up through the night the bottle cools down. An electric blanket would stay warm and I think I would wake in the night from being over hot. It's not often I need one though. I often find that if you're wearing pajamas and have a good blanket then you're not often cold.

Thanks Dagda Yes, I don't have warm enough pyjamas and blanket because a lot of the time here it is too hot but for a small period of the year it gets very cold.

Its August here and in my part of World i.e. Pakistan, the winter starts from December and stays till the end of February. During winter season, I prefer to have blanket as it does not snow here and I have never seen snowfall. If I was in a snowfall region then I bet I must have taken hot water bottles in bed while sleeping.

Thankyou Ashar. I presume you just use a normal blanket, not an electric blanket? It is interesting to hear what people from different parts of the world do.

if the winter is still not at peak i use hot bottle, it is cheap and not bad at all. when the night is like minus zero celc. then definitely i opt for electric blanket. did you know that one popular electric blanket is by biddeford, check this: http://www.squidoo.com/biddeford-electric-blanket
