Does anyone nowadays use Abstinence as a from of Birth Control?

Okay for those of you who are big into family planning and have chosen to time out the space between when your children are born.....Do you use abstinence as your birth control, if so why did you choose this option, and has not having that part of your relationship active, caused any friction or problems between you and your spouse? If you havent used it, would you consider it?
